Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1)
Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

My rating:

What did I think?

Well, I thought a lot.

I think I'm pretty stupid for putting off Sweet Evil for so long. And I don't even know WHY I did this but, like I said, STUPID.

The beginning was iffy. The part that really put me off was the party at the beginning. I felt like Anna should have known there wasn't going to be parental supervision. That she would have seen this deception in Gene's colors. But I guess not. It irritated me that she would be so innocent and dense in those thoughts, but that's her Angel blood, right?

I also thought Kaidan was hot. Yes, I sigh for Kai. He is the son of LUST. It's only fitting to lust after him...I can't help it! He's so mysterious. He's not a permanent fixture in the book. He's not one of those characters that is always there. He's hardly EVER there. I mean, most of the book you're thinking, Where's Kaidan? What's he doing? Or maybe it's my obsession with him? That seems likely. So, girls, freakin' savor that road trip with Kaidan because that's the most you'll get of Kaidan at once! I feel as if I would be one of those girls that's broken and obsessed with him. LOL I so would. So, I was basically cheering on Anna, telling her that if anyone had a chance at him, it would be her, to quit doubting herself!

Enough about him, I won't ever stop if I continue on that subject.

The story of Anna's parents! GAH! It was so sweet and romantic and I just wanted to tear up and bounce around at the same time. Anna's father. I love him. He's hilarious to me. What I was expecting of him is the total opposite of what I got and I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised by that.

I love the characters, the plot, the story in general. It's very interesting and intriguing. I didn't want the book to end. It's the perfect amount of SWEET and EVIL. I'm left wondering, what the hell is going to happen?

Worth the read? Definitely.
